Wine of the Day: Calera Ryan Vineyard Pinot Noir

Juicy, soft, fresh, and completely delightful. Within the first moment of inhaling the dried black cherry, ripe red berry, and subtle toasted almond, and vanilla aromas I knew this was a wine I was going to enjoy this wine!

From the Ryan Vineyard in Calera’s Mt. Harlan Estate in the Gavilan Mountains east of Monterey Bay, sitting at roughly 2200 feet above sea level, the wine has a lively freshness thanks to the cooling winds off the Bay and the high elevation.

With the vines averaging 20 years old, enhancing the structure and complexity in the supple wine, and smart use of oak aging, giving nutty, toasted, spicy notes that are carried through from the first sip of the wine through the palate and lingering with a velvety finish.

To say it simply, Calera Ryan Vineyard Pinot Noir ($75) is beautiful and inviting from start to finish. #Cheers!
