We’re Toasting: The End Of The World

IMG_6912If today is indeed the end of the world….then man did many things we were hoping for not happen….mainly Gary and I didn’t have a chance to get married before the world was over.  But, what we did do was enjoy incredible wine while waiting to see if the end was near.  Looking for a bottle to enjoy tonight? Here are a few suggestions that are sure to please…..and trust me, you will want to taste these before the world comes to an end.

Miner Oracle – beefy Bordeaux blend from our friend Dave Miner who has always been a favorite for his stellar Napa Cab and innovative blends.

Chateau Montelena will always have a special place in our heart, both the Chardonnay and Cabernet – probably because each time we visit our favorite place in the world, The Big Island of Hawaii, we stop by the Four Seasons Hualalai (where we got engaged) and enjoy a bottle of Chateau Montelena by the water watching sunset….we could be drinking plonk and love this.  Lucky for us we get to drink an iconic Cab or Chardonnay that helped put the Napa Valley on the wine map instead.

Vision Cellars Bottles

Vision Cellars Gary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir – our friend Mac McDonald is one of the finest, kindest and most lovable winemakers in California, and he turns beautiful Pinot Noir grapes into luscious, lovely and always intriguing wine.

We love the Pinot Noir that friends Adam and Dianna Lee make for their Siduri label, however their Novy Family Winery Santa Lucia Highlands Syrah continues to be one of our favorite wines year in and year out – smoky, spicy and delicious with intense red fruit and a lingering finish.

If you can’t get your hands on any of these before tomorrow is over, just open that one special bottle in your cellar you have been holding on to for years…now is the time to drink it!
Cheers!
