Wine of the Day: Inman Family Wines “Endless Crush” Rose

I celebrate my endless crush on my handsome husband today, as much as any other day, because I love him every day.

But today is the day we brought the people we love together without their knowledge, to help us share our love, in our pop-up wedding. Yes, the surprise did take me months to coordinate correctly, with Gary working on “Words and Pictures,” the film his company co-produced in Vancouver, BC. That day came off without a hitch, except that my mother didn’t like her outfit for wedding pictures (sorry mama,) and surrounded by our family and friends we pledged our eternal love.

Today I am as grateful as I was then to have Gary as my husband. As we have said many times over the past few months, there is no one I would rather live through a pandemic with than each other and Yoda, of course.

To pair with the occasion, a pretty pink selection from a dynamic woman who had the same idea for her sweetie at one point. The story goes that Winemaker Kathleen Inman was in the middle of harvest when her 20 year wedding anniversary rolled around. Harvest is obviously the busiest time for a winemaker so knowing what the exact date is every single day isn’t always top of mind. When that anniversary day rolled around, she needed something special, fast. She had just harvested Pinot Noir fruit from the Olivet Grange Vineyard in the Russian River. Loving dry, pale pink Rose from Provence since she and her husband had enjoyed it 35 years before, she crafted a delicate, elegant, juicy Rose, naming it “Endless Crush” for her one and only.

Today, the winery makes three single-vineyard Endless Crush Rose ($38), including the original Olivet Grange Vineyard, as well as the Pratt Sexton Road Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, and Pratt Vine Hill Vineyard in the Russian River. Each is distinct, showcasing the terroir. I love the original, Inman Family Wines “Endless Crush” Olivet Grange Vineyard Rose ($38) showcasing wild strawberry, rose petal, tangerine, and watermelon, ideal for sipping on this Memorial Day holiday. #Cheers and raise a glass to the one you love!
