Bold, expressive, and intense, Very Dark Red ($25) is a wine to pair with grilled ribeyes enjoyed fireside. It is an easy go-to for those who love a powerful, bold red wine like us! Crafted sustainably with a focus on the environment and respect for Mother Earth in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountain range in Monterey County. The region sees summer temperatures rise to scorching levels, ensuring the grapes reach optimal ripeness while bringing freshness from cooling evening temperatures. From day to night, the region can see a 50-degree temperature swing.
The blend melds two power-packed varieties, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot, to create a flavor-filled wine with a bit of tannic astringency, perfect for cutting through the richness of a grilled steak, braised short ribs, or even carnitas tacos. The exact blend is proprietary, but the resulting wine is rich and lush, with blackberry, black cherry, and black tea melding with woody herb, toasted spice, coconut, and vanilla. Aged up to 14 months in partially new French, American, and Hungarian oak, enhancing the spiciness in the wine. Allow this one to breathe a bit before enjoying. #Cheers
