The Russian River Valley of Sonoma is likely best known for its cool climate varietal wines, particularly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. But, within the region, you will also find Bordeaux and Rhone varieties, even a sprinkling of Zinfandel and Sangiovese.
With the purpose of bringing friends together around the table to enjoy good food and great wine, Taft Street Winery began just over 40 years ago in the heart of the region. Taft Street Garagites Sauvignon Blanc is a nod to their beginnings, humbling making wine in the garage and bringing friends together for a block party in the middle of their street.
The wine is made from fruit grown in the Nick Leras vineyard off of River Road. The wine is much more well-rounded than some Sauvignon Blanc wines, a characteristic we love while maintaining the overall fresh appeal. Layers of ripe apple and pear meld with fresh citrus and cream for a lovely, balanced, inviting wine.
