In keeping with my hope to drink better in 2024, today we toast The Mill Keeper Cabernet Sauvignon MV. The wine is crafted by Napa Valley wine producer Tom Gamble. Gamble’s family has been farming in the region for over a century. The California appellation red wine blend is sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards throughout the state.
The inspiration for the product came from Napa’s State Historic Park, Bale Grist Mill. The mill’s history dates back to 1849. After the death of her husband, Dr. Edwin Bale, who established the mill, María Ignacia Soberanes Bale became mill keeper, successfully managing the operation. Mill Keeper is a sponsor of the state park and the National Parks Conservation Association, believing in giving back to help Mother Nature thrive. The environmentally conscious producer advocates for climate protection for the earth and all who live here.
The Cabernet Sauvignon has a balanced, fresh, easy-drinking style layered with ripe black fruit flavors that meld with cocoa, espresso, and toasted spice. With balanced tannin and a nice note of acidity, the medium-bodied wine is delicious with grilled sausages, pork chops, or a bowl of hearty beef stew on a cold winter night. #Cheers
