Nestled near the Pacific Ocean in Chile’s D.O. Leyda Valley, the wines of Leyda Vineyards enjoy the cool coastal climate’s influence, helping produce fruit with lively energy and freshness. The region enjoys a long, cool growing season, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly, creating juicy flavors while maintaining acidity.
Blending fruit from the winery’s two estate vineyards, both located within a few miles of the Pacific Coast, Leyda Reserve Pinot Noir showcases the vibrancy the region delivers. The wine opens with ripe raspberry, tart red cherry, and pepper notes, followed by dried woody herbs and wet leaves. There is a touch of minerality, both from the influence of Ocean breezes blowing through the vineyards, bringing a note of salinity, and the granite and red clay soils of the region. Pair with grilled chicken, salmon, or roasted butternut squash ravioli with a brown butter sage sauce. #Cheers
