Happy National Margarita Day! Today marks the opportunity to raise a glass of your favorite agave-based spirits mixed with lime, triple sec, and a lot of ice. And the options for which tequila you may include continue to increase as the Mexican spirit’s popularity has been on the rise for the past several years. One option that launched in 2020 is from Lalo González, with his Lalo Tequila.
González is the grandson of famed tequila producer Don Julio, but unlike his grandfather’s brand, Lalo is strictly a Blanco-style tequila made from 100% blue agave plants in the highlands of Jalisco. The agave’s fermentation includes a strain of yeast that is also used in the production of Champagne, enhancing the fruitiness of the herbaceous, peppery agave. The slow-roasted agave fruit has a natural caramelized sweetness that melds with the earthy flavors. The result is fresh, clean, and refined, a delicious tequila to enjoy with a simple splash of soda and lime. However, as it is National Margarita Day, adding it to your favorite citrusy mix will also please any lover of the cocktail. #Cheers
