Mar de Frades Albarino ~ Wine of the Day

Mar de Frades showcases the sea’s elegant expression of Albarino from Spain’s Rias Baixas region. The first sips reveal layers of fresh citrus, white flowers, stone fruit, lilikoi, and soft herbs with a briny note of salinity, giving the wine the authenticity of place from fruit grown on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Warm days and cool nights ensure a lively freshness throughout the wine, making it ideal for pairing with fresh seafood and shellfish, tying in the briny note the Ocean adds.

The name means “sea of friars,” as the winery’s location at the mouth of the river Umia is where pilgrims disembarked to continue their journey on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. #Cheers
