Argyle Winery shines as one of the leading producers of sparkling wine in Willamette Valley, Oregon. However, the bubbles are just the tipping point for Argyle as the 40+-year-old winery also crafts some of the region’s best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay table wines, as is evidenced in Argyle’s Nuthouse Pinot Noir.
Working with a focus on sustainability, Argyle crafts Nuthouse from estate vineyards within the Eola-Amity Hills sub-AVA in the southern part of the region. The area enjoys close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, with cooling breezes constantly blowing through the vineyards, keeping grapes healthy and acidity fresh. The wine opens with expressive notes of blackberry, raspberry, and boysenberry, with an earthy forest floor, wet leaves, and toasted spice. The palate is bold and brooding, with enough weight to handle richer dishes, like grilled pork chops, Italian sausages, or burgers on the grill.
