In early August Dallas Uncorked held its 2nd annual fundraiser wine dinner for The June Jones Foundation. 120 guests gathered at Eddie V’s in Dallas for a celebration of great food and wine, provided by King Estate in Willamette Valley, Oregon, all to help raise awareness and funds for The June Jones Foundation.
And the night was a grand success. With a stellar number of attendees paired with key silent auction items we were able to raise $7000 for The June Jones Foundation, a $1500 increase over last years donation of $5500.
Highlights from the night included Shelli Shepard of King Estate describing just why Oregon Pinot Noir is so special, as well as the up and coming regions of Washington State producing award winning Cabernet Sauvignon. And of course, the one-on-one discussion with SMU Head Football Coach, June Jones, led by life-long friend, Dallas Uncorked Board Member and SMU football fanatic, Gary Cogill. Though we didn’t get down to every detail on this years football season, Coach Jones certainly got the crowd excited. Additionally, the group was able to learn more about the great work the foundation does, especially for kids throughout the country.
We look forward to our 3rd annual wine dinner in August 2012. Our next Dallas Uncorked dinner will be on November 8th when we welcome Hidden Ridge Winery to The Grape for an intimate wine dinner celebrating this years harvest. Tickets available now – www.dallasuncorked.org
