A Sad Day for Dallas Chefs, Foodies and Friends

We lost a great chef…a great talent…a great guy today. Earlier today I learned that celebrated Dallas Chef Randall Copeland passed away at the young age of 39. Chef/Co-Owner of Restaurant Ava and Boulevardier with his culinary partner Chef Nathan Tate, as well as Brooks Anderson and Bradley Anderson in Boulevardier, Randall was a gracious teddy bear with the personality of a giant. A dedicated craftsman who made flavors pop and simple dishes shine, all while embracing friends with bear hugs and making anyone around him laugh.

I had just received one of those bear hugs a few weeks ago, seeing Randall at one of the many charity events he gave his time to….they will be missed.

May you rest in truffle and foie gras filled peace Chef.
