We’re Toasting: 3 Wines for Summer Sipping

Warm days call for refreshing wines and here are three that will pair nicely with summer fare and barbecues, or to enjoy while relaxing al fresco with friends.

20160501_172856From right here in Texas, Brennan Vineyards Lily White Blend is a clean, balanced and very fresh wine that is filled with floral and ripe melon notes, creating a juicy wine that is also quite dry. Made from a blend of Muscat of Alexandria (47%), Viognier(29%), Roussanne (24%), the palate is enhanced with apricot, peach and honey. $18, available at Spec’s locations.

20160415_204616Paul Mas “Cote Mas” Aurore Rosé from the Languedoc region of Southern France. Though not from Provence, this beautiful Rosé is produced not far outside the region and still influenced by the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, adding a layer of brininess to the classic Rose. From Jean-Claude Mas celebrating the use of modern winemaking techniques with traditional practices while celebrating character & personality in the wines produced.  The blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, and 20% Syrah grown in vineyards of clay and limestone soil creates a Rosé filled with wild strawberry, cherry, and raspberry, with fresh herbs, lilacs and mineral notes. Tart red berries fill the palate of this medium bodied wine, bottled in 1 L size, making it ideal for a picnic brunch with friends filled with olive tapenade, fresh chevre, grilled salmon or a Salade Nicoise. Available for the incredible price of $15 at Stocks & Bondy.
