Wine of the Day: Stolo Gewurztraminer

Sitting almost in the Pacific Ocean, Stolo Vineyards is the definition of the ultra-coastal wine making. Located in Cambria, Califorinia, in San Louis Obispo county withing three mile of the Pacific, Stolo’s vineyards benefit from warm Central California days, ripening lush fruit to create the phoenolics and flavors, tamed in the evenings by cooling coastal winds, fog filled mornings, and a drop in temperatures overnight. The resulting effect ensures that wines are in balance and harmony, showcases the best the fruit has to offer. The completely dry, aromatic Stolo Gewurztraminer ($25) melds ripe stone fruit, like apricot and nectarine, with fresh wild-flower and rose notes. Aged on the lees for three months, adding texture, ensuring the wine has a beautiful, rounded palate, ending with the a honeyed, creamy finish.
