From the rolling hills of Ballard Canyon in California’s Central Coast region of Santa Ynez Valley, Jonata Wines is dedicated to crafting premium quality wines from classic Rhone and Bordeaux varieties that thrive in the sun-shine-filled location. The core principle of the winery is to work keeping the environment top of mind, farming their 600 acres, 80 under vine, sustainably without herbicides or pesticides, and including a variety of livestock rotated through the vineyards, like goats and sheep, also known as Mother Nature’s lawnmowers, naturally enhancing the soils and the land.

Blending 44% Syrah with 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and a mix of other Bordeaux varieties, Jonata Todos Red Vineyard Blend ($50) is complex, dense, and concentrated with a full, powerful body, that somehow harmoniously remains fresh and delicate. Aromatic and inviting on the open, with floral notes of lilac and violet, Asian spice, and blackberry, melding with spice notes of black pepper, nutmeg, and clove.
