Luigi Bosca Mendoza Malbec

The historical producer Luigi Bosca has been crafting wine in Argentina’s Mendoza region since around the turn of the last century. The winery, located within Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo, was started in 1901 by 4th generation winemaker Lenocio Arizo.  Of Spanish descent, after settling in Mendoza, Arizo quickly saw the potential the area provided for the production of high-quality wine. Over the years additional generations have joined the family-owned winery, each adding their style and character to the wines of Luigi Bosca and the promotion of Argentine wines and the wines of Lujan de Cuyo throughout the world.

Luigi Bosca Mendoza Malbec shines as an example of why Mendoza is such an ideal area to grow the variety. High-elevation vineyards resting under the gaze of the Andes Mountains create fruit that has bold character along with freshness, delivering tannin and acidity. Layers of dark cherry, plum, and berry meld with notes of fresh tobacco, woody herbs, and spice. I suggest a pairing of braised short ribs or slow-cooked chili on a cold night, warming you from the inside out.
