We’re Tasting: Jimmy’s Tomato, Prosciutto and Mozzarella Sandwich

Gary and I ran by Tom Spicer’s and Jimmy’s last Saturday gathering ingredients for our Mom’s Day gathering on Sunday.  It was late afternoon, as we had to run out to Lone Star Park and make our (unfortunately losing) bets on the Kentucky Derby, and we were hungry!

After stopping by Spicer’s for fresh salad greens and a huge bag of basil for me to make pesto, and then popping into Jimmy’s and gathering a few pizza doughs, salami, truffle paste and Soave, Gary decided to get a Jimmy’s sandwich.  And my sweet knew fresh, fresh, fresh would get me to indulge as well.

The result…a massive tomato, mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich with fresh basil on a whole wheat muffaletta bun with just a touch of fruity Italian olive oil and a dash of balsamic vinegar and cracked pepper.

Is there anything better?  I think not…..
Even better with a glass of that Soave from Inama and an exciting Kentucky Derby.
