A few weeks ago we hosted our annual Harvest Dinner with Abraham Salum at his beautiful Salum Restaurant, pouring incredible wines from Aveniu Brands including Codornui Cava, Raimat Albarino and incredible Rioja from Vina Pomal.  The evening was spectacular, with some of the best pairings for these tasty and affordable wines we have ever had…just spot on. And, the best part is, it benefited one of our favorite causes in Dallas – The Stewpot.

Every day in downtown Dallas The Stewpot feeds, clothes, helps and teaches the homeless of Dallas.  Started over 38 years ago by The First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, The Stewpot has responded to problems of hunger, illness, and homelessness with over thirty programs and services. Medical and dental care, addiction counseling and caseworker services, identification and documentation assistance, weekly programs for at-risk children and youth, and basic human services for hygiene or travel assistance – all meet very basic human needs which establish a safety net of support.

Without question, it is one of the finest charities in Dallas, giving back to those truly in need everyday.  We are so thrilled to be able to donate two full days of meals (one of which should be Saturday in the midst of the ice storm) as part of their “Loaves and Fishes” program through the proceeds from our dinner.  Thank you again to Aveniu Brands for the incredible wine, and to Abraham and his talented, gracious team for helping make it such a special night.
