Oscar night is a big one on the Cogill home, as it is in living rooms across the country and the world. Whether you are celebrating the best films of last year with a quiet party at home or a big Hollywood style evening of glitz and glamor, a good cocktail is required. Here are a few recipes we talked about this morning on The Broadcast, creating the perfect setting for an Academy Award winning night.

It’s Never Enough
Inspired by “The Wolf of Wall Street.” and “American Hustle”
1 ounce Bombay Sapphire East Gin
3/4 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
3/4 ounce Meyer lemon juice
4 grapes
Champagne
Preparation: In a mixing glass, muddle the grapes. Add the gin, St-Germain, Meyer lemon juice and ice. Shake, strain and serve in a chilled martini glass. Top with Champagne or sparkling wine. Garnish with a grape.
The Maersk Alabama
Inspired by “Captain Phillips”
1 part Sailor Jerry rum
2 parts cola
4 parts stout
Preparation: Add Sailor Jerry and ice cold cola to a chilled mug and top with stout.
Hot Tully
Inpsired by “Philomena,” a classic Irish cocktail for a classic Irish woman,
1 part Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
½ part simple syrup
½ part lemon juice
3 parts hot water
Preparation: First warm a mug with hot water, then discard and combine ingredients above. Stir before serving. Options ~ Add some fresh ginger for a bit of a bite. Or infuse the simple syrup with some fun flavors like cinnamon and orange, or apple and ginger.

Inspired by “Her”
2 parts Avión Silver or Reposado
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
4 One-Inch Cubes Fresh Watermelon
Squeeze Agave Nectar
Preparation: Muddle watermelon with agave nectar in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, and shake vigorously with ice. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish as desired.

Rio Bravo
1 oz. Avion Reposado Tequila
1 oz. Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1 oz. Cointreau Noir
1 oz. Lime Juice
Preparation: Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain over ice into a chile salt rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with chile salt and a lime
