Dallas Uncorked is turning 10 years old, and we want you to celebrate with us on April 16 at Ku De Ta with wines from Avenui Brands.

I still can’t believe it has been TEN YEARS!!!! Over the years we have held dozens of events teaching our members about wine, regions, varieties and pairings with a fun and unique twist, giving back to many important charities through the years. Now, after 10 years, we raise a glass to all of you who have made our success happen, and to the great wineries and regions of the world we have been able to taste and teach about.

On April 16 we’re hosting a walk-around wine tasting event with a few of our favorite regions that we have featured through the years including Spain, Italy and Argentina with incredible wines from the international portfolio of Aveniu Brands (importer for those delicious wines we had at our Harvest Dinner last year), each paired with regional bites created by our dear friend, Chef Andrew Ormsby of Ormsby Catering and Ku De Ta. We have done many events with Andrew through the years so hosting this special anniversary with him, poolside at his beautiful oasis in the city, Ku De Ta, seems perfectly fitting.

In addition to being a wonderful celebration, we’ll be giving back to two charities we love – Charity:Water, a nonprofit we have given a lot to over the years as clean drinking water is our greatest commodity, and one that too many take for granted and too few in the world have readily available. Charity:Water works all over the world digging wells, creating rainwater catch systems, providing water purification systems and more, and 100% of every single dollar donated to Charity:Water goes to a water project.

Also, in the spirit of birthday’s, we’ll support a local charity that just celebrated their 2 year anniversary that truly is a gift to our community and children throughout Dallas – The Birthday Party Project. Started a few years ago by Paige Chenault, an impressive young woman with a wonderfully generous spirit. The Birthday Party Project was created to give kids in need throughout the community the one thing that many go without when their family is down on their luck, the joy of a birthday celebration just for them.

Every two weeks Paige and her team arrive on the doorsteps of Project Gateway, the Family Place, Interfaith Housing Coalition, or other local shelters in Dallas and Ft Worth, and host a party for any kids in the home with birthdays that month. Each child receives a cake, and gifts, and oodles of love and attention, they are made to feel that they are the most important person in the world and that their birthday is special, just as they are. Over 3000 kids have been celebrated in the past two years, and they keep growing adding in new shelters and more parties, spreading love and creating joy and memories for children, and all of those who are a part of the experience.

The celebration will take place starting at 6pm on April 16 at Ku De Ta. Tickets for the walk around tasting event are available now for $45 each here.
