Happy NFL Football Season 2015-2016! Today is the day many sports loving Americans have waited for since February. And of course you have, the start of football means fall is near, bringing cooler temperatures, a celebration of the harvest bounty, leading into my favorite time of year, the holidays.
So, with the start of the season today, create something special that sings of fall, football and friendship taking you from the first noon kickoff through the last game of the day. Now, fingers crossed the Cowboys have a good year!
Start the day off right with an elevated, super spicy Bloody Mary.
Bloody Mary
1 1/2 ounce vodka, I like Belvedere Bloody Mary Vodka
1/2 ounce Ancho Reyes ancho chile pepper liqueur
8 ounces prepared Bloody Mary mix (like Mr. & Mrs. T’s)
2 dashes hot sauce
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 ounce dill pickle juice
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
jalapeno pepper stuffed olive and celery stalk for garnish
Garnish with an olive, pickled green bean or slice of crisp bacon
Preparation: Shake ingredients together over ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a tall glass over ice and garnish.
