What To Drink Now: Malene Rolle

Italy shines with sunshine-filled Vermentino. In France, the selection is known as Rolle, finding it’s aromatic home in the garrigue filled vineyards of Provence. Heavily influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, delivering ripe apricot, lemon blossom, and soft herb-filled selections from producers like Domaine Ott and Chateau D’Esclans.

In California, the SLO Coast Wine region of the Central Coast, vineyards sit less than 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, bringing the maritime, Mediterranean influence to the French style wine. Started with a focus on Provencal style Rose, Malene recently began to dabble in a very small production of the variety, revealing an elevated touch to their premium Rolle wine. Utilizing concrete eggs for fermentation and again, along with stainless steel and oak, the wine develops a textured creaminess, giving structure and body to the refreshing selection that is ideal everyday.
