Fragrant and fresh, with a zestiness that makes you linger over each sip, Gamble Family Sauvignon Blanc ($32). Third-generation Napa Valley vintner/farmer, Tom Gamble, founded the winery in 2005 with estate vineyards throughout Napa including Oakville, Rutherford, and Mt. Veeder. Gamble’s Sauvignon Blanc comes from his sunshine-filled Yountville vineyard.
Since the start Winemaker, Jim Close has worked with the winery, producing wines that showcase the land, with an Old World approach of keeping alcohol levels in check to help showcase the terroir, creating harmonious wines with character.
Juicy and lush, with a savory quality that is often overshadowed by fruitiness in wines produced from the variety, Gamble Sauvignon Blanc layers soft herbs, crushed stone, tropical pineapple, lemonade lemon, and spicy ginger. Bright and balanced, a great wine to enjoy with seafood, shellfish, and summertime.
