The Sta. Rita Hills shine in their ability to craft incredible, savory, succulent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Within the southern part of the AVA, in the Santa Rosa Hills, Alma Rosa Winery and Vineyards enjoys ideal growing conditions to create stellar selections of the two varieties, cool nights, continual breezes blowing through the vineyards from the Pacific, warm, sunshine-filled days, clay and loam filled soils that trap moisture, all creating a perfect microclimate to grow fruit with ripeness and freshness.

Alma Rosa “El Jabali” Pinot Noir ($68), the home ranch, was the first organically certified winery in California’s Central Coast and continues to thrive as they act as stewards of the land. Dense, bold, and supple, with black fruit, mocha and black tea notes lingering throughout the concentrated wine. The Pinot Noir is aged 16 months in 50% new French oak, adding toasted spice and cedar to the bold yet balanced wine.
