Wine of the Day: Siduri Willamette Valley Chardonnay

I never thought this day would come, a white wine from Siduri. We love Siduri, the Pinot Noir focused winery started by Texans Adam Lee and Dianna Novy Lee. The dynamic, talented winemakers who met while working in Dallas and dreamed of moving to California to produce stellar, single vineyard and single appellation Pinot Noir. Their dream became a reality, producing some of the most luscious, varietally correct, terroir driven Pinot Noir wines from California. From their start premium fruit from celebrated vineyard’s like Rosella’s and Gary’s became available to Adam and Dianna, because the growers knew they could trust their fruit to the couple, as allowing the fruit to speak for itself through the wine has always been the approach the winemakers took.

But, the focus was always Pinot, with their sister winery, Novy, started with the help of Dianna’s family, incorporating some white wines as well as Zinfandel and Rhone varieties. A handful of years ago the Adam and Dianna sold their successful winery to Jackson Family Wines, which has allowed for an expansion into new regions, and now, new varieties.

Earlier this week Siduri announced the launch of their first Siduri Chardonnay from Willamette Valley ($35).

Under the skilled hands, and Chardonnay expert, of Winemaker Matt Revelette, with the guidance of our buddy, VP of Winery Operations and Business Development for Oregon for Jackson Family Wines, Eugenia Keegan, Siduri showcases the luscious elegance of Willamette Valley Chardonnay in their approachable offering.

Blending fruit from Gran Moraine, Zena Crown and Maple Grove, fermenting in stainless steel, concrete egg, and a bit on the lees (yeasts) in French oak, the textured wine balanced vibrancy and energy, with fresh acidity melding with beautiful structure. Aromatic on the open, showing floral lemon balm, honeysuckle, and orange blossom, followed by juicy flavors of white peach, tropical passionfruit, pineapple, and lemonade lemon. A perfect wine to welcome spring. #Cheers
